Week 3!!!

Image
The weeks are starting to go by pretty fast here! I'm starting to understand a lot more which makes being here so much fun. So many great things happened this week!      This week we got our first rain storm which was actually so fun! Our house is next to the water and it's so fun watching the ocean while there is a storm!      BYU Hawaii’s fall semester starts soon so everyone is moving in! I have seen so many familiar faces which is the biggest blessing. It helps me realize that home isn't that far away. I am a little jealous that they always have sandy feet when they come over to the temple but I honestly cannot complain. It is such a blessing being able to serve here!!     I was able to give my first in person tour of the visitor center and temple grounds to an investigator from Honolulu. The elders brought him over for the day and we were able to teach him about the temple and show him a couple videos about blessings the temple brings. SUCH a...

Week 2 In Laie!!!

My last email was a failure so lets hope this one goes a little better! I will add the pictures at the end from last week because that's always the best part!      I've been here for a full week now so I have lots more to say!! The days seem like they are years long but there's always something to do which is good! One of my favorite things to do here is our shift at the visitor center!      Everyday we spend two hours at the visitor center and just rotate with other sisters here doing different things. We are either walking around the temple grounds, showing people around the visitor center, or giving virtual tours.  Laie is one of 4 visitor centers with a cut out model of the temple. It is SO COOL to show visitors the inside of the temple! A lot of people think the temple is a secret and are really surprised when we say it's not a secret, it's just very sacred to us! It's really cool for them to be able to look inside all of the different rooms. It'...

ALOHA

Hello everyone!!     The last few days have been so cool & so crazy! I finally made it to Hawaii Monday afternoon after four super fast weeks at the MTC!! It was so hard leaving… like so so hard but I instantly felt at home the second I landed! There were 72 missionaries that came to Hawaii on Monday. We got picked up and went to a Lookout point in Honolulu where missionary work was dedicated and first started was!      Not much has happened since I got here besides training and orientation! We spent the first night at the mission home with President and Sister walker and they are the BEST! He is Ezra Taft Benson's grandson and has so many cool stories. He has his book of mormon from when he was prophet and it was so cool to look through it and read all of his markings! Tuesday we drove to Laie and I met my companion Sister Kaiserman, she is an angel and goes home in 6 weeks :( I am already going to miss her. She has been so patient with me, which is such a ...
