GIVE THANKS

Image
Ya know the feeling when something is just so good and you want to share it with everyone? That's the gospel. It literally changes lives and it breaks my heart when I see people reject it, if only they knew how much good it could do for them. Good thing we have a God of second chances and you are never too late to choose to follow Christ. Never take the truth you have for granted.      Thanksgiving was crazy but we were SO well fed. We had a meal in the morning with our mission, a meal in the afternoon with our stake president, and then ate again that night with our bishop!       My sweet friend Tim from the Philippines is an angel here, she brought us homemade sushi to the visitors center Sunday night.     I went on exchanges in a Tongan ward this week. As we were walking around the area a sweet lady brought us a bag of ulu chips and they were SO yummy. The people here are so willing to honestly do anything for the missionaries. I sometimes ...

FULL HEART

Image
This week was so so good! My heart could not be more full! I never want my time as a missionary to end.     Vanessa's baptism! Vanessa was baptized on Sunday night and it was so amazing! She moved to Hawaii 4 months ago all on her own and she had over 50 friends at her baptism. As we taught her she told us "I want to share my testimony at my baptism, but I'm only going to say what I know to be true... so I need to figure out what I know" she shared her testimony and it was SO BEAUTIFUL! you would have thought she's been a member her whole life.      Today for p day we were able to go to the byu h devotional with President Eyring! So good! He answered questions from students about ministering, personal revelation, and making decisions.      This week Peter M Johnson of the 70 came to the visitors center. I didn't even recognize who he was till after he left. Let's hope I didn't say something wrong / embarrassing while giving him a tour.   ...

How To Be A Facebook Influencer In 4 Weeks!

Image
A very chaotic week if I do say so...      I got to be companions with sister Ohms this weekend which was so fun! She is from Taiwan and we had such a good time together. We gave our mission a training on Monday morning about "how to be a Facebook influencer in 4 weeks"      We had the best trams shift of my entire mission!! A group from Milwaukie & St Thomas came on vacation and they absolutely loved the temple and the way it made them feel! As we were leaving the visitors center they asked us to sign their book of mormons! We told them they could meet with local missionaries and they were all about it! They gave us their address and said send them over next week when they  get home from their vacation! TRULY A MIRACLE      We had ysa paint night and also badminton this week! Haven't played that since 8th grade gym. good times.      Yesterday I had transfers and I'm leaving the student ward which is so sad but my drea...

District Leader

Aloha Brother and Sister Crowley,     We are pleased to inform you that your daughter, Sister Olivia Crowley,  has been called to serve as a district leader in the Hawaii Laie Mission. This important position presides over 4-8 missionaries and provides important leadership training and spiritual guidance for their assigned district.     This entrusted position is vital to the success of the missionary efforts in the Hawaii Laie Mission, as we rely on our district leaders for both personal revelation and sound judgement in leading matters of mission vision, culture, and goals. We appreciate your ongoing support for this outstanding sister missionary. She represents you well and all those at home and across the world praying for her success.     We pray that you and your family will continue to be blessed because of the faithful service of your missionary daughter. Mahalo nui loa!   President and Sister Bassett Hawaii Laie Mission

Pearl Harbor!

The best day of the year here in laie has come & gone. FOOD FEST. All of the clubs pick a dish to make and then around the flag circle everyone sells them as a fundraiser. Lots of students and members of the community are there!     Yesterday I was able to go to Pearl Harbor for a few hours and do service! We hung flags all around the USS Missouri battleship for Veterans Day on Friday! It was such a cool experience being there and hearing stories of when pearl harbor was attacked in 1941!     In August of 1941, the Honolulu Tabernacle was dedicated by David O. Mckay. In the dedicatory prayer, he blessed "the edifice that no missile would strike it in any war.” Just 4 months later was the attack on Pearl Harbor, but the tabernacle was left untouched!     This past week BYU H had a devotional with Sheri Dew and she talked all about prophets and how they can see beyond what we can. Hale La A Ward Choir!

This week was so so good.     Monday we were able to spend 6 hours at the visitors center and it was the best day! Normally we only spend 2 hours there.     We had a tram that came from the PCC to the temple this week and it had a big group of flight attendants from Fiji. They told us that they were able to go to the temple open house for the temple in Fiji but didn't know a lot about our church. We were able to teach them a bit of everything and they left with their hands full of pamphlets and the Book of Mormon!      I had the best surprise visitors yesterday at the visitors center. I thought we were going to see my companion's friend from home but it was actually mine! It's so fun being able to show friends from home around the visitors' center and this little piece of paradise.     This Sunday we had a combined singing lesson. We learned “love one another” in sign language and a Tongan hymn. The Tongan language has its own hymn book with ...
