Boar Vs Beaver

Aloha!     Who remembers when my sister got attacked by a beaver? Well, I think she has been outdone. This week we were meeting with one of our members when I noticed a big scar on her leg. I asked what happened and she said she was hiking 3 peaks when a BOAR came out of the bushes and started charging after her and her friend. She said her friend jumped onto a tree but she was too slow and the boar got her. I cannot make this up. Apparently, there are lots of wild boars in the mountains here in Hawaii.  I was dying and told her about my sister getting attacked by a beaver. We agreed we would love to see a boar vs beaver fight. I obviously asked if I could take a picture to show my sister.     This week in the visitors' center we gave a tour to a little girl who was being baptized the next day.  When I say this is the smartest girl I have ever met I mean it. She told us the whole restoration, then told us why there are 12 oxen under the baptismal font, and ...

Happy fall! Considering it's 80° outside it doesn't seem like fall but I am not complaining.     Homecoming was this past week!! The town of Laie might be tiny but their school pride is far from it. Endless parades & fireworks. Never before have I met such humble but loud people!     Mission temple night!! All 186 missionaries (seniors included) filled up the temple one evening. It was such a cool feeling walking through the temple and knowing everyone who was inside.     Free lemonade!! Every Tuesday there is a devotional at byu-h so we sat outside and gave away free lemonade to all the students when they came out. A highlight of the week was that it was so much fun seeing and talking to everyone!     Lesson with Vanessa!! We had the best lesson with our friend Vanessa and we talked about making the gospel not just a part of our life, but making it our life!     A family fed us dinner this week because they have 4 kids in the YSA wa...

Can we all just take a minute and think of General Conference? AMAZING. I loved it all. Of course, I started balling when they announced a temple in Buenos Aires Argentina because that's where my dad served     Because I'm the worst at sending an email every week I'll include all the good stuff from last week in this email     -my bestie Kaycee fed us dinner because she is in our ward. 5-star Italian cuisine -we got to watch General Conference together in the visitors' center theater! One thing I won't miss about Hawaii is the 6 am session - fire burning on the mountain for like 2 weeks but it finally stopped and hasn't stopped raining since tis the season  - got to take our annual trip to chilis with President & Sister Bassett. Key to my heart  -and then obviously the highlight of being inside the visitors center & on temple grounds every day “I promise that increased time in the temple will bless your life in ways nothing else can.” Guess who said...
