Aloha!

Image
Aloha everyone! It's been a good week here in Hawaii, full of adjusting. I have loved getting to know our new ward and loved getting to know my companion more, she is the best!! It was her 20th birthday yesterday so we celebrated...and also worked hard (duh)! I haven't done much teaching this week because I have been sending a lot of online friends to their local missionaries. It is awesome being able to call missionaries from all over the world and tell them that there is someone in their area who is getting closer to baptism and they get to continue to teach them. The missionaries get so excited when we call them!!  Some good news is we got lots of rain this week which was fun. When it rains it pours!! Some bad news is that the rain tends to make the power go out hahah! All day Friday the power was out at the visitor center so we were trying to show people around with our flashlights.  It was kind of not going well, but then something really cool happened!! l always have a B...

Change, Change, Change!!

Image
There has been lots of change the past few days which is hard, but also so good! I can't believe I am at the end of my first transfer. The time has come for me to get a new companion and I am so lucky to spend the next little bit with Sister Cochran. She is from Orem and has 4 girls in her family (ok same), loves to be artsy (ok same), and loves softball (ok almost same hahaha)! W e have a brand new ward which should be exciting! We are also living in a new house which is also very fun! One of the best parts about being a Visitor Center Sister is that we live with our districts, so there are 8 of us living together. 3 of the Sisters are brand new to the mission and I’ve loved getting to know them! There are 18 new Sisters here so that is excited!! Also… for the first time in years there are Elders in the Laie zone!! It's so weird seeing them around because there are normally just Sisters. Like I said, lots of change BUT something that did stay the same is my LOVE for being her...

Week 6!!!

Another week has come and gone! I can't believe it has already been six weeks since I got here! I will be getting a new companion but staying here in Laie (surprise hahah). We have had so many zone / mission meetings lately and its the best because we are with President and Sister Walker! I am convinced I was called to Hawaii because of them!!  Last week some elders from Oahu brought some "friends" to the temple for a tour. We were about done with the tour and standing right in front of the temple doors when out of nowhere one of the elders just asked if she wanted to be baptized!! She said she would have to think about it but it was still so cool to see him ask her (and he got here the same time as me so I'm impressed) (see photo) !! Kind of a long story, but so cool! We were doing tram tours at the PCC on Friday and there was a couple that got on tram. Right after they sat down another set of sisters told us to be careful around them because they are kind of crazy. ...

No email from Sister Crowley this week, but here are some pictures from her past week in Hawaii!! She has officially been gone for 1 month and is loving it!!

It Just Keeps Getting Better- Week 4

Another really good week here in Hawaii. I swear it only gets better every week! Lots of cool teaching experiences, lots of acai bowls, and lots of meeting new people.  Last week I met a boy online at the Teaching Center. He SAID he wanted to learn about the Book of Mormon, but turns out he just wanted to talk to missionaries who are girls and who are single. Needless to say he wasn't actually interested in the Book of Mormon and we had to block him hahahah! It's crazy to me the things people will say to you when they're talking through a screen. Monday night we had the closing shift at the Visitor Center. It was a pretty slow night until a couple walked in. They just wanted to watch videos in the theatre so we spent about an hour there showing them lots of different videos. About half way through, my companion told me that it was President Nelson's daughter in the theatre with us….WHAT!!! No wonder the spirit was so strong as we were talking to her about her family (sh...
