Labor Of Love

Image
"Ivan looveeedd the plan of salvation! He has found so much JOY in the gospel!" "We asked him how he liked church He said he looooveeeddd it!!!! He was sooo happy! We asked him if we can move up his baptismal date to August 7th. He said yesss!!"      That right there is what makes missionary work so great! Someone we have been teaching online started meeting with his local missionaries and this is how they said it was going. In a mission call letter it says "more joy than you have yet experienced await you as you humbly and prayerfully serve the Lord in this labor of love among His children" SO TRUE     This week one of the trams from the Polynesian cultural center came to the visitors center and we showed them a quick 2 minute video showing some videos of the inside of the temple. After the video a 9 year old boy spent 5 minutes trying to find the "pool" (baptismal font) until he finally asked for help finding it and we had to break it to him th...

One Handed Push-up Kid!

Aloha, aloha, aloha!   Aright sad news first... Im leaving my married student ward. I have loved everyone (mainly the kids) and will miss them so much. My companion and i taught music time in primary this last week and it was so funny. It was basically a circus the whole time. My favorite act in the circus was the little boy doing one handed push ups the whole time. My only question is where did he learn to do that?  We had the coolest experience this past week with the tram tour that takes your from the Polynesian cultural center to the temple! We invited someone to join it and he was NOT ABOUT IT, when he realized that it was our church who ran the tour he wasn't super happy so we nicely told him so worries, hope you have a good day. Well about 5 minutes later he walks back and his wife wants to take the tour. We were kind of confused because he still didn't want to come but his wife was begging him to come with him. They took the tram tour and within 5 minutes of being...

7-9 Miracles!

One year into my mission and i'm finally figuring out how to send an email by myself Most miracle filled week oh my goodness! I'll try and keep this short Serving here in Hawaii we have an online teaching center which is the back end of comeuntochrist.org . We are there almost everyday for 2 hour shifts. We were there on Tuesday for the 7 - 9 shift which is normally pretty slow because it is so late on the mainland. Let me tell ya God knew what I needed that day when I went into that shift. We found two of the most humble people who were so ready to receive the gospel! Erin is the first and and she is from Australia. She asks the best questions and understands the gospel so well. Something she said to us was "you church lines up with everything i want for myself and need for myself in life, there is no way it's NOT true" she is so right. After our first appointment with her we asked when she wanted to meet again and she said "i'm free everyday this week...

Lead Sister Training Leader

Aloha Brother and Sister  Crowley,     We are pleased to inform you that your daughter, Sister Olivia Crowley, has been called to serve as a lead sister training leader. This is the most entrusted position for sister missionaries in the mission. We will often refer to them as assistants to the president, as their role is as important to the mission as the traditional leadership roles of our elder missionaries. In parallel, they will also provide leadership over a zone of sisters, established for the purposes of both mission organization and hastening the work of salvation.     This highly entrusted position is vital to the success of the missionary efforts in the Hawaii Laie Mission, as we rely on this position for both personal revelation and sound judgement in discussing matters of mission vision, culture, and goals. We also rely on this same judgement when considering transfers, exchanges, proselyting areas, ward/branch assignments, and district leadership. ...

Thank you thank you very much for all of the birthday wishes today. I felt so loved and lucky to be able to spend my birthday in this special spot of Hawaii that I have grown to love so much over the past few months!  Not much to say this week because we were in quarantine for 5 days, but we were able to get out of quarantine today and go to the temple which was the best!! The temple is such a special place and there is nowhere on earth that we can feel closer to heaven than inside the temple. I feel so blessed to be able to serve on temple grounds everyday!  Here's lots of pictures With all my aloha, sister crowley

Surprise Visit

What a week it's been! We had our mission conference activity one morning and it was so fun! We all met at a park and played kickball for the first hour of the day. I'm so grateful for everyone that I have met while serving my mission that won't just be "mission friends" but friends forever. I have been introduced to so many different cultures and ways of life. I live in a house with sisters from the Philippians  , Taiwan , and Canada ... it's always guaranteed to be a good time. God truly loves everyone, from everywhere. We met the sweetest family at the visitor center from Germany  . They were Christian, and we showed them a video called "God's plan" it takes you through different rooms and shows a family and the plan that God has for them. The little 3 year old girl was speaking German the whole time and it was so cute.  Our ward has had finals this week so we haven't spend much time with them but we have made lots and lots of banana bread...
