Lei Day

One of my favorite things about Hawaii is how much people love flowers here and they are constantly giving them to other people! Graduation is this week so everyone is making leis of every kind for graduation! We learned how to make some at our YSA ward this week as well as we were just walking down the road and someone we started talking to showed us how to make another kind.     We have been teaching the sweetest girl named Makalapua for the past month or so and she was baptized on Saturday! It was so special and of course she was buried in leis by the end!      This week we did a "what are you grateful for?" stand at iao valley which was fun! Another missionary and I wandered off to get people to come to our stand and met this group of people who ended up feeding us. They told us they work for a drink company and when we asked what their best drink was they said "well for you... water!!". Turns out it was the owners of Hawaiis biggest alcohol company, the foo...

Maui No Ka Oi

So much happens in a week, yet for some reason when it's time to write an email my mind goes blank and I forget EVERYTHING. s/o to my journal for saving me  This week's highlights: - Jelissa was baptized yesterday! She is a 9 year old girl who comes from an inactive / part member family. Her being baptized was setting such a great example for her family!!  -We were tracting one afternoon and my companion said "have you ever been chased by a dog?" (Everyone has big scary dogs here) I told her no, but forgot to knock on wood. The next house we went to I was chased out of their yard by their dog  -This week I filmed a video of the cutest family signing "I feel my saviors love" - watch the video I'll attach -We had our last institute class with Elder and Sister Horton! They are returning home to Vegas from their mission today. I'm so thankful for the example that they were to me and everyone who ever attended institute. Our last Zone Conference they shar...

aLoHa !     I hope everyone is doing great! Here's the rundown from this week:     -Stake conference this weekend and Elder Revillio from the 70's was here, so cool to hear from him. Almost every talk was focused on temples so keep saying your prayers for Maui. Something really cool he said was was "the easiest part about getting a temple is building it", It's all the effort and faith that goes in before it is even built that is what matters the most and is the hardest part      - We put one of our friends Joleen on date for baptism     - Someone left us a note on their door saying "don't come here"      -We met the sweetest lady named Cynthia working at a banana bread shop in basically the middle of nowhere. We shared the book of mormon with her and she said "this is just what I am looking for" . We were hoping to start meeting with her more frequently... not just for the banana bread      -Aunty Sally is the sw...
