Elder Holland Takes On Hawaii
Sorry this is a little bit late, but my mom was not about to let a week go by without me sending an email out hahah! It's been a good week here in Hawaii! I think I have talked to more people who are from Utah this week than those who are actually from here in Hawaii, I love it though! It's like it was fall break or something at home.
Like I mentioned last week, one of the boys in our area who we are teaching is named Travail! Cutest kid, oh my! He loves basketball and wears the same yellow Pokemon pajamas every time we see him. He is getting baptized on November 13th! We asked him who he wanted to baptize him and he said “my mom”, we unfortunately had to tell him that wasn't going to work. He must have short term memory loss because we told him about the priesthood about 7 minutes earlier! Anyways, love that kid!
Elder Holland & Elder Christofferson were in Laie this week for the BYU Hawaii Inauguration. I wish i could say I saw them, but that most definitely did not happen...figured it would be good clickbait for the title though. BUT Elder Bednar is coming to Hawaii in November to speak to all of the missionaries in Hawaii, so that should be a good time!
We went on a hike for P-day today and boy was it an adventure! The 1 mile hike turned into about 6 miles, but the view made all of the wrong turns so worth it! Cheesy I know, but It reminded me of the Atonement. No matter how many times we make a wrong turn, there is always a way to get back on the right track. God is always there! “He will pick you up & put you on his shoulders, because you, whoever you are, are absolutely worth it” I LOVE this quote by Al Fox, it's so true. The hike wasn't easy, it wasn't fun the whole time, but life isn't either! Pick yourself up, turn to God, and push on!!
