Married Students!

Aloha Aloha Aloha!

It has been quite the week here in Hawaii! The subject of this email pertains to the ward that I am now serving in! We got transfer news last week and I have moved across town to be in the BYU Hawaii married student ward! It's so different than what I expected it to be! There are about 25 couples and we meet in a little multipurpose room on campus for church!
When I first got put in the married student ward they said there are only 2 nonmembers in the whole stake. We are only in charge of one ward in the stake so there is nobody to teach other than just meeting with members and teaching/sharing messages with them.
None of the couples reply to texts from the missionaries, so the only way you can contact them is if you just show up at their house and basically invite yourself in (sorry, not sorry). It is crazy how people don't care for the missionaries until you spend a little bit of time talking with them and getting to know them and then they want you to come back!
We were able to go to the BYU Hawaii food fest with some of our members this week which was super fun! Because there are no sports at this BYU, they use culture as a way to celebrate and all gather together. All of the cultures represented here had a little stand set up selling their food and you bought tickets like at a carnival to buy differnt food. Tons of students, faculty, and basically the whole community was there. Honestly didn't know what I was eating, but Mongolians know how to cook!
This past little bit has been so hard. I miss my family, I miss all the literal angels who I used to live with in my old apartment last transfer, and it is just hard to be happy sometimes. It seems so easy to just give up and go home... but thats exactly what Satan wants. This week I was able to go into the temple here for the first time and it was the biggest answer to prayers. It's like I could escape the real world for a couple of hours and it was just what I needed!
Love you all & hope everyone is doing well
