New Year, New Mission, New Friends!
Hello everyone!! No email last week because we were #qUaRaNtInEd, but good news we are out now! The longest week of staying home but the work moves forward! New years was such a fun night. Everyone here loves their fireworks. Holiday or not, morning or night there are always fireworks and New Years was no different. The whole sky was lit up with fireworks from about 10pm-4am. It felt like the volcano was going to erupt!!
While we were quarantined we did lots of online finding. One day I got a message from a man named Ivan who messaged comeuntochrist.org looking for local missionaries. The message he sent us was an automated response that the website automatically sends us if you visit the website. I called him anyway and he was actually interested. He knew nothing about our church or even how he got to the website. I sent all of his information to the local missionaries and within 2 days he was on date for baptism. Yay!
Our Mission split to the Laie Hawaii mission on Monday which was super exciting. Our new Mission President arrived (President & Sister Bassett) and they are awesome! They are from South Jordan, Utah, he is a mental health therapist, and loves the band LANY... we will be getting along great!
About half of our ward graduated so it's full of new people which is awesome! We have started to get to know them better and met a women named Iris who just moved here from China. Her husband is a member but she knows nothing about the church. We gave her a tour of the Visitor Center this week and are planning to meet her next week. She is the sweetest & I'm so excited. The light of Christ shines through people who aren't even aware of who Christ is and the gift He is to all of us!
I hope everyone is having a good New Year!! LOVE YOU ALL
With much love, Sister Crowley
