4ever Changed

Such a happy week! Keala was baptized on Saturday and her story is one that changed my mission! I'll try to make it quick.

Keala & Lance are husband and wife, not religious at all. In 2018 Lance was diagnosed with cancer and was slowly getting worse. He was terrified to pass away because he didn't know what was next. They explained this to their friend the Madellas (family in our ward) and told them about these fears. Brother Madella asked if they could come over and give Lance a blessing. So they went over that night and talked for a little and then he gave him a blessing. While they were there they shared a little bit of The Living Christ with them as well as talked about Joseph Smith.

The next 4 hours after the blessing Lance didn't need oxygen once, which hadn't happened in years! He also couldn't stop talking about "bruhda joseph". To top it all off he was no longer afraid to die. He knew his time was coming but he was at peace.

The next Sunday their whole family was at church with the madellas. They briefly introduced themselves to the missionaries and quickly left so we didn't know much. Later that night we got a call saying they wanted to meet this week with us. We tried to meet twice but they just kept falling through because Lance was super sick. We were finally going to meet with them when we got a call that morning saying that Lance had passed away. Two days later Keala and her son were at church. We have continued to meet with them every week since then. Waylon (the son) didn't feel ready to be baptized this week but I know without a doubt that he will accept this gospel soon.

Keala has had so many cool stories since his passing of the spirit confirming to her the truthfulness of this gospel and also of the plan of salvation. She told us "I know that Lance is learning just like I am, only he is in spirit school not here on earth. I know that he has already accepted this gospel and I can't wait for next year when I can go and be baptized in the temple for him and then seal our family together forever"

GOD IS SO AWARE OF EVERYONE. They didn't know it but God had been preparing them for this moment for several years. Everything was just now adding up for them. It was the most special day. To end the night we went to our fav family's son's wedding. The most Hawaiian of all Hawaiian weddings I have ever seen! TONS of food & endless hula dancing! Lots of pictures below
