Lei Day
One of my favorite things about Hawaii is how much people love flowers here and they are constantly giving them to other people! Graduation is this week so everyone is making leis of every kind for graduation! We learned how to make some at our YSA ward this week as well as we were just walking down the road and someone we started talking to showed us how to make another kind.
We have been teaching the sweetest girl named Makalapua for the past month or so and she was baptized on Saturday! It was so special and of course she was buried in leis by the end!
This week we did a "what are you grateful for?" stand at iao valley which was fun! Another missionary and I wandered off to get people to come to our stand and met this group of people who ended up feeding us. They told us they work for a drink company and when we asked what their best drink was they said "well for you... water!!". Turns out it was the owners of Hawaiis biggest alcohol company, the food was great tho!!
Elder Pingree came to our mission for a tour this week and they had all the off-island missionaries zoom in to hear him but the audio was so bad we couldn't understand anything! I felt bad so I went and listened to his one and only general conference talk that night and it was actually so good! “I Have a Work for Thee” give it a listen!
With all my aloha, sister crowley
